Ordering Procedure for Spanish Select - Your gateway to Spanish Producers

Minimum Orders

Minimum order for  wine delivered from our UK warehouse is 4 cases, each case can be of a different wine; ie you can mix the vineyards and the types of wine. There is a fixed delivery charge of £5.

You can also order direct from the producer. This gives you the cheapest prices. For every producer there is a minimum order level; this is usually the pallet size. This is either 540 or 600 bottles for wine and around 100 kilograms of meat for meat products. For some vineyards the minimum is 360 bottles. This minimum level is the level for the supplier, not for individual products. Thus companies can order a mixture of wines from the same supplier, so long as the total ordered from that supplier meets the minimum requirement.

We will also arrange groupages from producers located near to each other. It is possible to make up a valid order of 540 or 600 bottles by combining smaller orders of wines from vineyards which are geographically close to each other. This means practically that a combined order of 540 or 600 bottles can come from any combination of the three Catalan vineyards in Montsant and Priorat and Penedes and we will also group together wine from Rioja and Ribera del Duero.

Credit arrangements

Normal assumption by the Spanish suppliers is that purchasers will be expected to pay by bank transfer or other means (eg euro-cheque) direct to the Spanish supplier(s) within 30 days of receipt of the formal invoice from the Spanish supplier. Companies will need to specify the payment period they anticipate if it is different from this.

Delivery arrangements

The purchaser will arrange for transport from the bodega or factory or will formally request that Spanish Select arrange transport and delivery in the UK. If Spanish Select are arranging transport the address of the final destination in the UK is required.

UK deliveries.

Spanish select will deliver anywhere within the UK a minimum order of 4 cases.

Ordering and information flow

UK company sends the order request through the web-site to Spanish Select. This is forwarded to the Spanish supplier.

Spanish supplier accepts order and submits a provisional invoice to Spanish Select, setting out their acceptance of the order and specifying timescale and location for pick up. For mixed orders Gestalm will arrange for goods from different factories or vineyards to be brought together and picked up from a single site if that makes financial sense. There will be an additional charge for this.

Purchaser confirms acceptance of details in the provisional invoice via Spanish Select, including confirmation of payment method.

Spanish supplier sends invoice direct to UK purchasers once the goods are available to collect or have left the factory/vineyard.

UK purchaser picks up goods and pays invoice.

Issues can arise at any stage of this process and information flows required to resolve these issues will be through Spanish Select.
